Rio Rancho High School procured Wilson & Company to assist in replacing the high school stadium field and surrounding drainage infrastructure. Detailed survey and mapping were required in order to begin site investigation and design. Wilson & Company utilized an innovative, hybrid approach by supplementing field survey with Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) mapping. The field team collected hard pavement and other critical features with traditional survey while leveraging their fleet of UAS to capture high-resolution by their FAA Part 107-certified pilots. The geospatial team developed an auto-correlated point cloud and orthophotography to extract planimetric features and topography. CADD technicians merged the field survey and mapping data into a single, comprehensive CADD deliverable for design purposes.
